Key to success?

I am ... hating ALICE IN WONDERLAND

After an evening of heavy wine and spirit tasting Saturday morning was not the best. As I rose, with a head like thunder, I knew that my day would have to be spent doing something fun, light hearted, otherwise I could see the miserable situation spiralling out of control. A trip to the cinema is what I chiefly needed. Just what the hangover warranted, a dark room, with escapism from the world.

My friend and I decided on Alice in Wonderland as it ticked all the boxes. This movie was 108 minutes of shallow boredom. The 3D aspect was good and the cinematography excelled, as I have come to expect from Burton, but it was missing something. Neither of us cared for the characters and therefore not bothered with the plot. The ending in the real world was ridiculous as was the beginning in the real world – both places that 3D could not paper over the obvious screenplay flaws. The long and short of it is – IT WAS CRAP.

We left the cinema feeling that, although we knew that time had passed, we had no experience to show for it. Hollow is the best word that I could use. In fact we rush home to watch rubbish American sitcoms to overcome the void of entertainment that it left us with.

Not good Disney – not good!
